Meeting notes

The meeting writes itself.
And stays on your Mac.

Automagisk hears your meeting app, writes down what was said and drafts the notes using the template you picked. Speech recognition runs on your own machine. No bot joins the meeting, and the audio never leaves the Mac.

It hears the meeting. Not the rest of your Mac.

The recording is bound to the meeting app alone. Spotify, notifications and the video in another tab do not exist to it. That is not a promise we make, it is something the app is unable to do.

It knows who said what.

Your voice comes from the microphone, everyone else’s from the meeting app. When several people speak, Automagisk tells the voices apart and recognises the ones you have named, on your Mac. On headphones the split between you and the others is exact.

Your language, picked up on its own.

A small model works out which language the meeting is in, then the right model writes it down. Norwegian and Nynorsk go to the National Library of Norway’s model, trained on 66,000 hours of Norwegian speech. Meetings in the nine other languages you can pick go to a model made for them, which you fetch once, 442.6 MB. Both run on your Mac. You can pick the language yourself from the chip on the live card.

The slides come along.

If someone shares their screen, Automagisk can capture the slides in the meeting window. The text is read here on your Mac and helps the notes get figures and names right. Off until you turn it on.

The tasks find themselves.

What someone committed to becomes a task with an owner and a deadline, and the deadline becomes a notification on your Mac. Decisions get their own list, with the time they were said.

Ask your meetings.

“What did we decide about the price?” Search covers every meeting you have, and the answer points back at the meeting and the timestamp, so you can read what was actually said.

Ten seconds to say no.

When a meeting is detected, the menu bar icon counts down before recording starts. Say no and it will not ask again until that app stops making sound. And the audio is deleted once you have read the minutes, within a day either way.

Privacy

Privacy is not a setting here. It is the foundation.

No Appit servers in the loop.

Your routines live with you and run on your machine. AI calls go straight from your Mac to the provider you picked yourself. Connect a service like Gmail or Slack, and those steps go through the provider you chose to use. Never through us.

Your keys live in the keychain. Not with us.

API keys and logins are stored in the macOS keychain, encrypted by your own system. Never in plain text, never in a cloud we own.

Nothing goes out until you have said yes.

Email, messages and publishing always stop with you first. You see the content, you press send. Right up until you say “always allow” for that one routine.

The website sets no tracking cookies until you have said yes in the banner, and the app sends no telemetry unless you have actively switched it on. You can use Automagisk without signing up at all.

Automagisk uses only the sign-in methods the providers themselves allow. Where subscription sign-in is not permitted in third-party apps, as with Anthropic and Google today, you use your own API key instead. No shortcuts with your account.

From the founder

For 35 years I have said that things should not happen automatically. They should happen automagically. Automatic is a timer on a lamp. Automagic is when someone has thought it through so well that it just sorts itself out. That word has followed me through my whole working life. Now I am building it.

I built Gjestfri because I was tired of juggling rental channels myself. Automagisk comes from the same irritation: my Mac is full of small jobs I do again and again, jobs a machine should have done for me. I know exactly what it should do. I have just never been able to tell it. Now I can. And so can you.

2. What the service is

Automagisk is an app for macOS that lets you describe routines in natural language and have them carried out locally on your own machine. The website offers information and a download. The app is still being developed, and features may be added.

3. Disclaimer

Automagisk is provided “as is”. We work hard to make everything work, but we cannot guarantee error-free operation. Test important routines before you rely on them, and use the approval steps the app offers.

5. Payment and right of withdrawal

Automagisk is free for 14 days from sign-up, and no payment card is needed to try it. After that it costs NOK 299 a month, Norwegian VAT included. The subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel. If you cancel, the subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for and is not renewed: no lock-in and no notice period. The subscription follows you, not the machine, and covers every Mac you own. Payment is handled by Stripe and charged in Norwegian kroner. As a consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act. For digital content delivered immediately, you consent at the point of purchase to delivery starting right away, and the right of withdrawal applies to the subscription going forward, not to periods already used.

6. Intellectual property

Appit AS owns Automagisk, the trademark, the code and the content on the website. The routines you make are yours.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Appit AS is not liable for indirect loss arising from use of the service, including loss caused by third-party AI services or by routines you approved yourself. Our total liability is limited to what you have paid for the service in the last 12 months.

8. Changes, governing law and venue

We may update these terms. Significant changes are announced on the website or in the app. The terms are governed by Norwegian law, with Hordaland District Court as the venue.

4. iCloud sync

If you turn on iCloud sync, your meetings are shared between your Macs and the iPhone app through your own private iCloud database at Apple. Each meeting is encrypted on the Mac before it leaves the machine, with a key only you hold, and the key is only shared through your iCloud Keychain. Audio and voiceprints are never synced. Appit has no access to the database.

7. Legal basis and purpose

Licence and purchase data are processed to fulfil the agreement with you (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)), that is, to give you access to the software you are trying or subscribing to. Enquiries are processed so we can answer you (legitimate interest, art. 6(1)(f)). Measurement on the website only happens with consent (art. 6(1)(a)), and you can withdraw it at any time under “Tracking choices” at the bottom of the page.

8. Sharing and processors

We never sell your data. It is only shared with the processors that run the service for us: the provider of hosting and operation of the website (Vercel), the provider of the licence database (Supabase, stored in the EU), the payment provider (Stripe) when you pay, and SendGrid (Twilio) for sending email. SendGrid only gets the email address you enter in “Send me the link by email”, once, to send the link. Data processing agreements are in place with all of them. The chat on the website is Snakk, Appit's own service, and the conversation is stored there. Apple and the AI provider you pick, you use with your own account, under your own agreement with them.

9. Retention

Licence data is kept while the subscription is active, and deleted on request. Payment data must be kept for five years for accounting purposes, counted from each monthly payment. Your meetings stay with you: on your Macs, on your phone and in your own iCloud. If you delete a meeting on the Mac, it disappears from the other devices too.

10. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to trond@appit.ai and we will sort it out without fuss. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (datatilsynet.no).

11. Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will say so on the website. The date at the top always shows the latest version.

Cookies

Short version: we do not track you unless you have said yes.

automagisk.app sets no tracking cookies until you have answered yes in the banner. If you do, the Meta pixel, the OpenAI pixel and Microsoft Clarity are loaded to measure ads and how the site is used. If you say no, none of them are loaded. You can change your choice at any time via “Tracking choices” at the bottom of the page.
